| Introduction |
Hlvtca is a random compilation of professional, personal, and public design works. The whole point of Hlvtca, aside from the obvious admiration for Helvetica, is to demonstrate the significance of design in our lives. A simple sticker on a light pole can be equally if not more powerful and meaningful than a full fledged branding system. Or, at least I hope so.
Peter McClelland is currently a Design Lead for Method, in San Francisco. Prior to Method, Peter was based in London as Associate Creative Director for R/GA, lead Attik's brand group in San Francisco, creative directed in Vietnam, ran his own Seattle based studio, and a handful of years with Landor Associates in Cincinnati. Over the past 15 years, Peter's worked primarily with sport, automotive, and entertainment brands - including Apple, Aston Martin, Beats By Dr. Dre, CocaCola, National Football League, and Nike. |

Walking to and from work often involves dodging piles of shit. So, at 6am, we plastered a bunch of wild postings on Mission Street in San Francisco. We have not stepped in shit since.

These definitely aren't typical iPad covers. Dodocase launched to preserve the heritage and craft of traditional bookmaking. The company, now going way beyond usual iPads, have since teamed up with numerous local and global brands such as Richshaw bags and J.Crew.
My small influence not only came through a new logo, but an incredibly indepth brand guidelines, which detailed everything from tone of voice to a full-on visual design system.

| SuperBowl XLIV |
|
The identity for Super Bowl XLIV is bound to be one of the most dynamic Super Bowl logos in history. The logo capitalizes on the games unique aspect of duality. Two teams, AFC & NFC, fighting for the same ball, the same goal, and it all culminating to one moment. In unison with developing the logo for Super Bowl XLIV, an expansive Style Guide was developed including Logo Usage, Logotypes, Lockups, Design Elements and an in-depth Application Building utility.
Super Bowl XLIV takes place February 7, 2010 in Miami. |

| "I GUN OAK" |
|
Obviously building on the whole I heart New York deal, but with a more realistic approach for Oakland, California. This concept is aimed to increase social awareness of the constant and unfortunate reputation of crime throughout Oakland... or it means you just like guns and/or killing people. |

International Series |
|
Once a year the NFL travels abroad. For 2008, the annual game was held in London’s famous Wembley Stadium. To promote both teams, and more importantly the NFL brand, a Style Guide was developed. The guide documented all aspects including color, typography, and imagery usage. |

Moved into a new apartment with 30 foot ceilings... needed some kind of big ass artwork. Took two 15'x5' sheets of plywood, pasted prints, then slapped on random paints, stains, oils, etc. |

| Month Of May |
|
There's an old abandoned building in Cincinnati where I've seen several homeless people set up sleeping spots. The space is massive, lonely, and incredible blank. I wanted to do something meaningful for them... and sadly, this is the only thing I could think of.
Sixty-three 8.5x11 prints pasted on brick wall. The letters themselves are hand drawn with a thin sharpie pen through a stencil. |

Exploring possibilities for a San Francisco / Olympic design system. Primary mark signifies the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. It's form is derived directly from the Olympic rings. Photography builds further on the rings, focusing on the simple form's importance throughout all sports. |
